Introducing Little Sud

It has been 5 weeks since Sud was born and we have a lot of catching up to do! But before I begin, I realize that distinguishing between daddy Sud and little Sud might be confusing, so from here on out...
Daddy Sud = SUD
Baby Sud = Sud

Let me begin with the birth.  I went into labor on August 21st around 7pm.  SUD was at Jiu-Jitsu and I was resting at home after taking a long walk with my parents earlier in the day.  SUD came home immediately when I called and told him my water was breaking.  This was not SUD's first labor call and, as a result, he wasn't so positive this was the real deal.  To be honest, I wasn't so sure it was the real deal.  Well, an hour later, the nurse at Kaiser Hospital confirmed I was in labor. I'll spare you the details of my labor and the birth :)

Sud was born on August 22, 2012 (one week early) around 3:30pm, which happened to be my sister Allison's birthday.  We had a full room, with SUD, my mom, my sister and of course myself and the doctors there to witness his arrival.  He weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Sud was a big and beautiful baby boy! He had brown eyes and a full head of dark brown hair.  His eyes were wide open the moment he came out, taking in the new world around him. Kaiser Hospital believes in skin to skin contact, so he was immediately placed on my chest and remained there for an hour to begin building our lifelong bond. It was a beautiful moment!
The look on my mom's face is priceless!

The first 3 weeks SUD was able to stay home with me and the baby.  I don't know what I would have done without his help.  He was the perfect husband and father.  He saw to my every need. I was and still am very impressed with how easily he adapted to caring for the baby, especially since he didn't really have any prior baby experience.

SUD couldn't leave Sud's side.
