3rd Month Reflections...

This is what Sud is doing now...
  • He ended the month weighing 14 pounds
  • He is smiling all the time!
  • He clasps his hands together in front of him
  • He chews on his hands and is now drooling constantly
  • Sud still isn't a fan of belly time, but he is beginning to lift his head slightly.
  • He ended the month eating around 4-6 ounces every 3 hours or so during the day.
  • He sleeps between 6-8 hours in the night and will then wake up for one night/early morning feeding before going back to bed until 8:30-9:30am .

Time for 3rd month pictures!

Ajji and Thatha Time!

On November 9th, Mom & Dad Doss (Ajji & Thatha) drove down from the Bay Area to visit Sud. This is the second visit since he was born. Both SUD and I were very excited to see their reaction as to how big Sud had gotten.  We quickly learned that once grandkids are born, the kids come in 2nd place!  Just joking...kinda :)   Mom (Ajji) and Dad (Thatha) went directly over to Little Sud and loved him up. Sud immediately gave Thatha many big smiles.  They stayed by his side the rest of the trip.    One of the many qualities that I love about Sud's parents is their love of family.  It is very important for them to spend time with not only us, but my extended family as well.  They stayed the entire weekend at my parents house. It was a wonderful visit!
Little Sud fell asleep looking at Daddy's fish in Ajji's arms.  So, they both took a nap together :)

Ajji & Thatha kept taking turns holding Sud.

She needed one more cuddle time before leaving.

Halloween Party Time!

For Halloween 2012, we dressed as Rastafarians.  Sud also went to his first party! Our good friends Danny and Jeanette have a little girl who just turned 2 years old.  They celebrated by having a Halloween themed dress up party.  I was a little nervous about how Sud would behave, but he was just perfect. H didn't fuss at all! He was a perfect Rasta baby :)

2nd Month Reflections...

This is what Sud is doing now...
  • He ended the month weighing 12 pounds 6 ounces
  • Surprisingly, Sud is in the 99% for his height. He is now 25 inches long!
  • He began to smile!
  • He began to baby talk and interact!  He has the cutest little voice.
  • Sud's hair is growing back.  :)
  • He ended the month eating around 4 ounces every 2 hours or so during the day. He is a little oinker!  When he is hungry, he makes sure we know.
  • Thankfully, his bedtime is now between 9-9:30pm.  He sleeps between 6-7 hours in the night and will then wake up for one night/early morning feeding.
  • He visually follows people around the room.
  • He is starting to find his hand and eat it.
  • Sud has grown to love his pacifier and now wants it to fall asleep. I hope to change this behavior...wishful thinking.

Time for 2nd month pictures!
He takes a bath every night before bedtime. He LOVES his bath!

Grandma and Grandpa's House

Unfortunately, our toilet over flowed this month, ruining the floors in both our bedroom and the nursery.  Because it took 2 weeks to repair the floors, SUD, Sud and myself all stayed with my parents in San Pedro. While I was a little hesitant to once again be living with them, it turned out to be a wonderful stay.  Grandpa Jim cooked delicious dinners every single night and Grandma Kathy watched the baby constantly.  It was a wonderful 2 weeks for me to spend time with my parents and also for them to bond with Little Sud. Here are some pictures during this time....

Having fun at Grandma & Grandpa's house with cousins Lindsay and Kendal!

Smiling at Grandma Kathy

This month I have been told that Little Sud looks like his Uncle John.

So much to say!

Sud can now talk and interact with the people around him (beginning around 7 weeks old). These adorable interactions usually begin about 10 minutes after he finishes drinking his bottle. I absolutely love his little voice!  He usually has sooo much to say and can go on for several minutes. :) Check out the video below...he is really on a roll from .30 seconds to 1:30.

Look Who's Smiling

Sud is 6 weeks old today. The last 3 mornings he has given me and my mom a big toothless smile. I can't get enough!

1st Month Reflections...

Yay! I am finally caught up with the blogging for the first month happenings and will be able to post current events. Because little achievements can easily be forgotten, I want to end every month with little Sud's milestones.

This is what Sud is doing now...
  • He ended the month weighing 9 pounds 15 ounces (a 2 lb gain)
  • Babies are said to cry around 4-5 hours a day.  Sud really only cries when he's hungry. So, thankfully, he doesn't take up too much time crying.  Fussing is another story
  • While born with a full head of hair, he lost quite a bit during this 1st month.  He now has a beautiful receding hair line :)
  • He ended the month eating around 3 1/2 ounces every 2 hours or so during the day.
  • Sud is a night owl like his mommy.  He stays awake until 11:30pm-12:00am, but then will sleep for 4 hour intervals.
  • He began following his cupcake toy (thanks Chaya Auntie) from side to side.
  • Started taking his binky (pacifier)
Time for 1st month pictures!
