A Beautiful Sunny Afternoon in Los Angeles

The last couple of weeks have been pretty cold (for Southern Cali standards), ranging from the 30's to mid 60's. Poor little Sud has been cooped up inside for most of Winter. However, today was BEAUTIFUL! I couldn't help but spend most of it outside with Sud. He had a marvelous day exploring Uncle John's beautiful garden. I can't wait for warmer weather to arrive...

Since Sud was a newborn, he loved listening to Uncle John's chimes. He now loves being able to make them chime by himself.

Yummy Yum Yum!

Around Christmas time, SUD and I began teaching Sud how to hold his bottle. He can now hold it by himself about 60% of the time :) Also, we just started to introduce baby food. I started with squash and he hated it. Next, I tried sweet potatoes and he thought they were alright Finally, I gave in and gave him the good stuff--Apple Mango. He loved it! Although, at this point, he still gets more on his face than in his belly.

4th Month Reflections (better late than never)

This is what Sud is doing now...

He ended the month weighing 15lbs 14oz
His height is in the 98th percentile! 27.3 inches!
Sud began to really control his arm movements and began to grab the toys that were placed in front of him. I was so happy at this new milestone, but I do know this now means I must be very careful because soon EVERYTHING will be going in his mouth.
He sleeps between 9-11 hours in the night, going to bed around 9:30pm and waking up anytime between 6:30-8:30.
He wants to stand up all the time. When someone is holding him he goes stiff as a board and doesn't want to bend his body to sit. LOL!
Sud still isn't a fan of belly time, but he is beginning to last much longer when placed there.

Sud's 1st Chrismas

(Warning: This is a very long post because I did not keep up with blogging last month)

Family is very important to the both SUD and I, so it was a blessing being able to spend the Christmas holiday with our loved ones. While Sud was too little to appreciate Christmas and all the joy that came with it, SUD and I embraced every moment with our new baby. I do admit though that I eagerly await the time when we bake cookies for Santa, leave a carrot for Rudolph, and put our excited little boy down for bed on Christmas Eve. I'm pretty sure that time will be here before we know it.

We got our Christmas tree on December 8th. Because all the free space in our home is taken up with baby toys, SUD and I decided to get a very small tree this year. However, once SUD stood next to the tiny trees, he immediately changed his mind. He said it wasn't right being able to look down on our Christmas tree. We ended up getting a tree over 6ft tall. It was a fun time looking for a tree with SUD, Sud and my nephew Forrest.

The next week, Decmber 14-16th, Sud's parents flew down with Aliyah so we could all go to Disneyland. Chaya, Barry and Rohan were suppose to join us as well, but Rohan got sick so they stayed behind to take care of him. Aliyah helped us decorate our X-mas tree on Friday. The next day we all went to Disneyland and had a wonderful time! Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Jim watched Little Sud. It was Aliyah's 1st time at Disneyland and, although we got there late, she loved it!

The carousel was the 1st ride Aliyah wanted to go on at Disneyland.

Every year, we switch off spending the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Area. This year our little family spent Christmas with the Doss family. It was a wonderful visit. Little Sud spent a lot of his time with his Ajji, Tha-Tha, Chaya Auntie, Barry Uncle, and cousins Aliyah and Rohan. Aliyah couldn't get enough of her little cousin Sud. She gave him lots of kisses, talked to him, sang to him and played with him. It was a beautiful sight to see the beginning stages of the lifelong bond they will have.
