8th Month Reflections...

This is what Sud is doing now...
  • Sud ended the month weighing 20 lbs.
  • Sud loves to stand up.  He may learn to walk before or at the same time as crawling.
  • He is beginning to reach further out to grab toys while sitting down. He's not interested in crawling yet, but is working his way towards it.
  • Sud has his 2 bottom teeth poking through!
  • He is beginning to have separation anxiety. He is fine with strangers, but doesn't like me to leave the room.

Time for 8th month pictures!

He prefers to sleep on his side or belly now.  He usually doesn't rest his head on the pillow though :)

He loves his exersauser...Bright Starts Around We Go Activity Center.  This allows him to walk around the play center to practice his walking skills.

He loved playing with the balloon.

Places to go, People to see

Sud had a very fun and busy month (3/23-4/21)!   A little over a month ago, we signed up for a new Mommy and Me class in Torrance.  There are about 8 families that participate, with all the babies being right around Sud's age (7 months).  It's perfect! He has so much fun seeing his friends and playing on the equipment every Wednesday. Each week they rotate the equipment so it's always new and exciting.

He loved playing in the tunnels with mommy!
We were visitors at my friend Katherine's Tot Time class in Pasadena. Her son, Luke, just turned 1 years old. Afterwards, we went to the Galleria for lunch with them and Jeanette and her daughter Addie, who's 2 years old.

This month I finally took Sud to the park that is only a few blocks away.  It was my first time going and I was pleasantly surprised as to how nice it was.  There is a large grass area and a nice jungle gym.  While Sud is still too little to enjoy most of it, he did get to swing for the first time!

My little man is always examining the bits and pieces he finds in the grass.

The weekend after Easter,  we celebrated Uncle John's birthday at Aunt Ava's house.  It was a wonderful day with the family.

Happy Birthday John!

He loves visiting his Auntie Ava!

With his cousins, Sydney and Taylor

We bought a family pass to the Los Angeles Zoo at the beginning of the year. The 1st time I went with my friend Jeanette and her daughter Addie in January.  This past visit we went with Daddy.  :)  It was a fun time.  Sud's favorite animals were the stinky flamingos.

Easter 2013

As always, we had a wonderful Easter holiday. When Sud woke up in the morning, he of course had no idea  that it was a special day and that there would be an Easter basket awaiting him.  We sat Sud next to it and, without much enthusiasm, he began rummaging through the goodies. I  guess I was a little more excited then he was.  Next year he'll understand :)

After giving each toy the once-over, he was done looking though his basket.  We weren't yet ready to give up, so out came the bubbles.  He loved them!  How could they just  disappear???

All in all, it was a fun morning and a great start to Easter.  Sud may have been a little grump, but  it wasn't anything that his baba couldn't fix :)

Later that afternoon, my parents hosted a wonderful Easter lunch with the family.  The meal was delicious and the company was delightful.  Little Sud had a wonderful time seeing his family, espcially his cousins Lindsey and Kendall.

The girls trying to get Sud to laugh for a picture :)

It worked!

That evening we went back home and showed Sud his Easter basket again.  Second time around, everything seemed much more interesting! (Especially the basket grass)

7 months old [VIDEOS]

Here are 2 recent videos we took of Sud playing.

Video #1:  Sud has both played with baby mirrors and has been held in front of our bathroom mirror since he was a couple weeks old. His reactions have been the same each time, a quick smile but nothing that holds his attention.  Today I put up a full length mirror at his level and his reaction was quite adorable. Enjoy....kiss, kiss...
